Sandro’s artistic director, Evelyne Chetrite inspires her draws from streets, cities, architecture and from her memories in Morocco. She founded in 1984 her ready-to-wear brand with genuine creativity. Each collection features modern and sophisticated pieces with unique and surprising details that are essential to any wardrobe. The Sandro silhouette is elegant and refined with a hint of androgyny. Sandro Homme (for men) remains in a chic, minimalist and upscale spirit with modern and stylish pieces.
Most of her collections are an inspiration from the vivid colors of her childhood in Morocco. She also remembers the piles of shirts, impeccably crafted by her grandfather in his Rabat shop. It was here that her love of clothing was born.
She moved to Paris during her teenage years. There, she realized how enthusiastic she was about clothing and her vocation began taking root in the streets of Paris.
Evelyne Chetrite studied law but refine her fashion mind at weekends, working at vintage shops where she formed a circle of loyal buyers who loved her selections. Later on she met Didier Chetrite who gave her the opportunity to call upon her talents as a stylist.
The couple started the Sandro adventure together in 1984. Their first boutique was opened at the rue Vieille du Temple in the heart of the Marais district. The success was immediate.
Sandro’s collections are an expression of feminity while also adding a masculine-feminine equation. Her vision of femininity is the basis for her designs; she focuses on her favorite area of expression, the masculine-feminine equation, and shares an irrefutable Parisian elegance.
The brand has now grown internationally and has more than 530 points of sale worldwide.
