In 1973, agnès b. registered her brand name. The idea for the name dates back to the 1960s, when she was working as a stylist for Elle magazine and one of her publications needed to be signed. “I was caught off guard. […] I said, “Just put agnès b., like in the news, when they don’t use the full name. And then I made the logo with my handwriting.”
